How long has your company been conducting background screening?

We have been in the background screening business since 1996.  In that time we have conducted well over 100,000 background checks.  Our many satisfied clients include hundreds of small and mid-size businesses, several fortune 500 companies and even the United States Census Bureau!

What is the cost of a “Standard” background check?

Standard can be very different depending on the employer or property management company so it’s impossible to assign a “Standard” price.

To give an example, a lower level employment background check can start under $20.00 while a very in-depth executive level background screeniung can exceed $100.00. A free consultation can help determine what searches best fulfill the needs of your company.

Does SafeScreener have a “Brick and Mortar” office or is it entirely web based?

Yes, we have “real” offices and a friendly staff of real people working here. We have regional representatives but our physical location is at 650 W Lake St in Chicago IL. You can find more information on our “Contact Us” page.

How long does it take to set up an account?

Accounts can easily be set up same day. Larger volume accounts that will be entering orders in-house may need to schedule a live or “Web-ex” training session but reports can be processed immediately. Requests can be faxed or mailed as well when necessary.

What is the “turn around time” of a background check?

We offer several “Instant” searches that provide immediate results. Background packages that include Hands on County level research and Reference Verification Calls range 24 to 72 hours.

Are background screening companies governed by a government agency?

We abide by several laws and standards. The Fair Credit Reporting Act or FCRA maintains the majority of our guidelines to conduct employment screening. We also adhere to the individual standards and laws of each of the 50 states. We proudly display our membership to the (NAPBS) National Association of Public Background Screeners, which upholds and monitors the practices of its members to the highest standards.
